Context
Freight operators running routes across Morocco and Europe lose margin in the gap between dispatch and accounting: a trip looks profitable on paper until fuel spikes, toll receipts go missing, or an empty return leg goes unbilled.
Scope I disclose publicly
- Fleet and maintenance registry covering tractors, trailers, insurance/inspection expiry alerts, and service intervals.
- Dispatch board with interactive Leaflet route maps, driver assignments, and milestone updates from an installable mobile PWA.
- Per-trip cost accounting linking fuel logs, driver advances, and road tolls to calculate net margin per shipment and per truck in MAD and EUR.
- PDF generation for waybills, delivery notes, and client invoices.
Decisions and trade-offs
- Shipping the driver companion as an installable PWA rather than a native store app so fleet operators can onboard drivers immediately via a link.
- Enforcing trip-level cost allocation on every fuel and expense entry so profitability is visible before the invoice closes.
- The trade-off: browser-based PWA geolocation requires active driver check-ins and does not replace hardwired telematics boxes in zero-signal zones.
